This year, China has made it difficult for its local users to access Google services. It has almost become impossible to use Gmail that allowed users to access their emails through third party services.
Earlier, there was a possibility to get their email messages using applications like Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook using POP, SMAP and IMAP. But now all these services are seemed to be blocked by Great Firewall of China. And to still access Gmail, people will have to use VPN or Proxy services.
Transparency Report of Google shows that there has been a huge drop of traffic to access Gmail from China in last few days. One of the spokesmen from Google confirmed that there is nothing wrong from their end.
Few other Google services like Google Drive and Google Hangouts are also blocked for users. Censoring and blocking web access is already present in the China's history. Currently Google hasn't disclosed if they will take any measures to still provide the access to users in China again.
